In Loving
Memory
Chen was born sometime
in January 1979. I didn't really want another cat but my
husband thought it would be good for our daughters. We
looked in the paper and found an ad for Siamese kittens.
They had 2 males and we chose Chen. He became my third
child. Chen was a ''one of a kind'' kitty. He gave as
much affection as he received. When my husband and I
came home from work, he would be laying in a sunny part
of the house and always got up to greet us. He waited to
be picked up and cuddled but never had to wait very
long. Chen could be found sitting on one of our laps,
sleeping on my husband's shoulder in the morning, while
I was getting ready for work, or curled up in his kitty
bed in the sun. He lived a life of luxury. Some said he
was the most spoiled cat they had ever seen. Believe me,
he deserved it.
He moved with our family 4 times
and did well each move except the last. He wandered off
before we landscaped and couldn't find his way back. The
people that found him called the Animal Control and,
because he had his license on his collar, they were able
to find us within a few hours. My husband went to pick
him up and bring him back home. Chen was very happy to
be back and never wandered off again. Of course, I
watched him like a hawk after that so wandering off
wasn't even an option.
Chen was a very healthy
cat until 1995 when he had a ''kitty colostomy''. We
nursed him back to health and had 4 more good years with
him. He passed away on April 11, 1999 with all of us
present. I held him on my lap, petting him all the
while, until he slowly and peacefully went to sleep
forever.
Chen will be remembered each time we
see a ray of sunshine in the house, or a favorite place
of his (and there were many) but mostly, he will be
remembered forever in our hearts. Rest in peace,
''Boop''! We sure miss you!
